Warfield CE Primary School

Special Educational Needs

Warfield CE Primary School is an inclusive community. We believe that every child has a right to enjoy school and achieve their very best. We want every pupil to make progress, not only academically, but also to acquire skills for life, such as social skills, independence and good manners. We do this by providing a curriculum that is ambitious and designed to give all learners the opportunity to study the full curriculum in a range of subjects using specialist support and challenge where necessary. It is the responsibility of every adult working in our school to help ensure that all of our children are included and cared for. Our SEND and Inclusion policy takes account of the Special Educational Needs and Disability Code of Practice: 0 to 25 years (June 2014).

We want all of our children to realise their potential and make the best possible progress. We have high aspirations for our pupils, and want them to enjoy, succeed and develop their talents. It is the responsibility of all adults to try to recognise any barriers to learning, therefore we want them to raise concerns as soon as possible so that we can adapt provision to help overcome difficulties, embed learning and diminish the difference. We know that for pupils to succeed and develop their knowledge, they need to feel happy, safe and confident in the setting, so we aim to support the ‘whole child’. The SENCo and FSA (Family Support Advisor) should work in collaboration with children, staff and parents to ensure the well-being and inclusion of all our pupils. We work closely with our families and partner professionals to ensure clear communication and a cohesive approach to support the learning of our pupils.
