Statutory Assessment
Through your child's time with us we will use a number of different methods to assess your child. There are some statutory assessments that your child will undertake during their time at primary school these are currently;
Reception Baseline Assessment (RBA)
All children are assessed within their first 6 weeks of beginning a reception setting. The assessment is undertaken 1:1 with an adult and the child and involves answering questions based on things they see on a screen and with objects in front of them. There are no summative outcomes provided for these assessments.
Year 1 Phonics Screening
Children in year 1 undertake an individual phonics screening assessment in June of their year 1 year. The children undertake a 1:1 session with the teacher in which they are asked to read, blend and segment a number or real and alien words to establish their understanding of phonics.
