Welcome back, Year 2!

Our Autumn 2 topic is ‘The Great Outdoors' with a focus on Science. We will be reading The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark by Jill Tomlinson and our writing will focus on persuasiveness as a theme, including letter writing as the form. In Maths, we will consolidate Autumn 1's learning on Place Value, Addition and Subtraction, and begin to look at Shape. In Topic, this half-term will include opportunities in Science to consolidate habitats and things that are living and non-living, as well as introduce food chains and partake in some exciting practical investigations. In RE we will explore the question: Why does Christmas matter to Christians?

Important information:

PE days – Thursday and Friday. Please make sure your child comes into school wearing their PE kit on these days.

Please ensure all your child’s clothing is named!

Home Folders – Will go home and need to come back into school every day.

Home Learning can be uploaded to Seesaw if you wish to share it with your teacher and class.

Spelling books should come into school ready for Friday spelling tests.
