Welcome to Year 4

Penguins Class - Mr Groves

Turtles Class - Mrs Nosworthy

Well done for completing an action packed half term. We hope you have a restful break over the half term.

After half term, our 'Journey's topic will shift focus from Brazil to rivers. We will be studying the journey of the river, with a case study of the River Thames, looking closely at how we categorise a river and how this different from other bodies of water.

In maths, we will continue to concentrate on addition and subtraction, before turning our attention to studying area, and then multiplication and division for the rest of the term. In English, we will focus on the use of mystery in different texts, as well as reading and understanding different forms of poetry linked to our learning of rivers and water.

Our RE centres around the Holy Trinity, looking at how the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are represented as well as how water is represented in the Bible.

Within computing, we will be completing our first coding unit using the programme, Logo. We will be looking at repetition of shape and how to adapt our coding language accordingly.
