Summer Term 2025
In our final term, our maths focus will continue to look at decimals, before moving on to money, time and shape. We will also look to consolidate our understanding of topics covered throughout the year.
In English the children will be writing mystery texts as well as producing a film narrative. Spelling and grammar will remain a thread throughout all the wider writing activities.
Science is our driver topic for the wider curriculum. Our topic for the first half term is 'Inside out' where the children will look at teeth and digestion and what happens inside of our bodies when we eat. In the second half of the summer, our topic changes to 'Pump up the Volume' and we focus on sound, looking at how sound and electricity travel.
In computing, we return to look at coding, focussing on repetition on games before making music and using audio production techniques.
'Does prayer change things?' is our investigative question in RE for Summer 1 before moving into our focus on Hinduisim, looking at 'Is the holy journey necessary for all believers?'
In art, the children will be studying Paul Cezanne and recreating still life drawings in his style. Our final DT focus is baking, looking at how effective research can affect what products are made.
Please note the change to our PE day.
P.E. Days - Monday and Wednesday - please wear P.E. Uniform to school on these days. Please ensure you are up to date with our uniform policy, including the removal of earrings for PE. An up to date copy of the uniform policy can be found here: https://www.warfieldprimary.co.uk/School-Uniform/
No bags larger than book bags please. Our cloakroom is increasingly full with large bags that are taking up a lot of space. Packed lunch boxes and water bottles are removed from bags on entry to school, a book bag is large enough to contain the items needed to travel to and from the classroom. Large bags will be need to be taken home with the parent at drop off.
Please ensure your child's uniform and all personal items are named, to ensure it can be returned to its rightful owner when they take it off particularly with the warmer weather.
Named water bottles and a healthy snack are also required each day.
Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or queries.
