Welcome to Year 5

We hope you and your families have a wonderful, well-deserved break and are well rested, ready for the new school year.

We are excited to share our first Autumn topic 'Groovy Greeks' with you. We will be learning about Ancient Greece, including who they were and where they lived, what their beliefs were, and how their lives influence life in modern-day Britain. We will also be looking at Gods and myths, including the Twelve Olympians, constellation origins, and famous people and their achievements.

Our R.E. focus for this half-term is further exploring Christian beliefs, posing the question 'What does it mean if God is loving and holy?'. In PSHCE, we will be learning about ways to manage our health and wellbeing, focusing on the importance of rest and relaxation. 

Important Information

P.E. Days in September will be Tuesday and Friday. Please wear P.E. Uniform to school on these days.

Paper copies of spellings and home learning are sent home at the beginning of each half-term. We have also attached a copy of current home learning on this page. Spellings will be tested every Friday.

Please ensure that any clothing and water bottles brought into school are named.
